A Program for Young Adults Aging Out of Foster Care
Second Chance Transitional Home provides safe, structured housing for young adults transitioning out of the foster care system—individuals stepping into adulthood without the stability, guidance, or support many of their peers rely on.
We bridge the gap between foster care and independent living by offering more than housing. We provide direction, life skills, and a foundation for long-term success.

Why This Matters
When young adults age out of foster care at 18, they face challenges that many of their peers are better supported through. Without a stable family foundation, they must navigate major life transitions with limited guidance and resources.
Housing Instability or Homelessness
Former foster youth experience higher rates of housing instability than their peers. Without family support to fall back on, even small setbacks can have serious consequences.
Unemployment or Underemployment
Many lack work experience, professional networks, or the guidance needed to secure stable employment—making financial independence more difficult to achieve.
Limited Financial Literacy
Many enter adulthood without exposure to essential financial skills like budgeting, credit, and taxes—placing them at higher risk for debt and financial instability.
Lack of Emotional Support
Without a consistent support system, many young adults face stress, anxiety, and major life transitions with limited guidance or encouragement.
Navigating Adulthood Alone
Most young adults have family to ask for advice or support in emergencies. Foster youth often do not—making the transition to independence more challenging.
Our Mission
To empower young adults aging out of foster care by providing safe housing, life-skills training, mentorship, and support systems that lead to independence and long-term success.

Why it Works
We don't just provide shelter—we provide structure, accountability, and real-life preparation.
Our model is built around consistent support, clear expectations, and practical skills that help young adults move forward with confidence.
The Butterfly Represents Transformation
Our warm teal butterfly symbolizes transformation, hope, and the safety of home. Just as a butterfly emerges renewed, we walk alongside individuals as they step into a new chapter filled with dignity, stability, and possibility.
